A La Font del Gat (Montjuïc)

Les aigües d’una font moltes vegades avancen amagant i ocultant les històries i veus que s’han assentat al seu voltant per xiuxiuejar. No obstant això, tant l’aigua com els seus relats continuen circulant, mai no es queden estancats. Per a aquesta jornada deslocalitzada a la Font del Gat, hem explorat i compartit les pràctiques d’Agnes Essonti, Laura Sebastianes i Fer Boyd & Madeleine Stack a través de tres propostes, cadascuna vinculada a la idea de circulació—ja sigui de narratives, gestos o tradicions.

The Altered State de Fer Boyd & Madeleine Stack és una performance en dues parts on dues amants intenten transmetre profecies i pregàries a través de grans distàncies, dissolent les fronteres i estructures que les divideixen. La definició de “relació” és porosa i en constant evolució. Creada en connexió amb la seva exposició que compilava documentació presentada a l’estat per parelles, amics i companys per aconseguir visats i viure al costat de les seves comunitats escollides, aquesta performance borra intencionadament les línies entre les parelles romàntiques i els vincles d’amor i cura mútua—entre qui té els papers i qui els busca. Explorant les infinites maneres de romandre invisibles sota la mirada vigilant de l’estat, les amants naveguen per corredors laberíntics i paisatges de vigilància constant, desapareixent i tornant a aparèixer en un joc interminable de gat i ratolí amb el present. Les seves eines són l’ambigüitat i les mirades conspiradores dels vianants.

At La Font del Gat (Montjuïc)

The waters of a fountain often flow while concealing and hiding the stories and voices of those who have gathered around it to whisper. Yet, both the water and its tales continue to circulate, never becoming stagnant. For this decentralized event at La Font del Gat (Montjuïc), we explored and share the practices of Agnes Essonti, Laura Sebastianes and Fer Boyd & Madeleine Stack through three proposals, each linked to the idea of circulation—whether of narratives, gestures, or traditions.

The Altered State by fer boyd and madeleine stack is a two-part performance where two lovers attempt to transmit prophecies and prayers across vast distances, dissolving the borders and structures that divide them. The definition of “relationship” is porous and ever-evolving. Created in connection to their exhibition that compiled documentation submitted to the state by couples, friends, and comrades to secure visas and live alongside their chosen communities, this performance intentionally blurs the lines between romantic partnerships and bonds of mutual love and care—between one who holds papers and another who seeks them. Exploring the myriad ways to remain unseen under the watchful eye of the state, the lovers navigate labyrinthine corridors and landscapes of constant surveillance, vanishing and reappearing in an endless game of cat and mouse with the present. Their tools are ambiguity and the conspiratorial glances of passersby.
