órgano Diana
Glass wax, invasive species of thorned vine, steel
The title, ‘Diana Organ’, is a medical term referring to the organ in the body to be targeted by a particular hormonal or chemical intervention, and which will exhibit the first signs of change according to its penetration by an exterior substance. In the case of chemotherapy, the ‘diana organ’ is the ‘canary in the coal mine’ for a cascade of bodily changes that occur on a cellular level, starting from the bloodstream and being transported throughout the entire organism. In such aggressive medical treatments, the line between poison and antidote is infinitely fine, and the weight of chance, genetics, and internal weather decide how much of a toxin will cure or will kill.
